Welcome to the Wildcat Library

The media center is located on the 6th grade hall with easy access to all students and faculty. The overall mission of the library to support the teachers and students of Hale County Middle School in their pursuit of knowledge. The Wildcat Library Media Center is committed to preparing all students to meet the challenges of an increasingly global and diverse society. We believe that students learn best in an environment that fosters a respect for themselves and others. This allows students to be active participants in their learning, to identify and solve authentic problems and to effectively share their learning with the appropriate audiences. In partnership, with parents and the community, we strive to inspire to the habits of mind and character that will make them lifelong learners.

Library Rules

This is a No Cell Phone Zone.

  • No food, drinks, or gum in the library. You will be asked to throw them away.
  • Computers are here for you to write or do research for school projects. Playing games on the computers and chatting in chat rooms is a violation of the Computer Use-Student Agreement you signed. Your computer privileges will be revoked for that day and will be revoked for the 9 weeks the second time.
  • Please whisper.  Other people have the right to a quiet environment so they can think.
  • Clean up after yourself.  Put books back on the proper shelf, tuck in chairs, and throw away your trash.
  • No more than 4 students per table.  More than that generates noise and leaves no room for anyone to work.

What will you do in the library?

Students will attend a library class once a week. Library classes will promote literacy, information research skills, digital media creation, and support academic learning standards.
